Putting an Effective Trade Show Booth
Together
Unique design is another way to create an
extremely effective and powerful trade show
booth impression.
You've made the decision to attend a trade show
and suddenly your heart starts pounding: now you
have to get a trade show booth together! You
don’t know where to start. Your stomach feels
queasy.
Relax; you already have the key to designing
your exhibit: your company. You only have to
come up with a design that represents your
image. What about your logo? Your letterhead?
Companies often use the same colors and styles
in booth design that they use in their ordinary
marketing materials. The booth should reflect
your company style and identity, and what better
way than to use the colors and graphics you
ordinarily use in branding your company.
You want to reel in prospective customers with
bright, cheerful colors showing energy and
class. Bold and inviting colors and graphics
should be balanced as well for aesthetic appeal.
Use the primary color of your logo and develop a
color scheme. Power color combinations make
people take notice and walk up to find out about
what you have to offer.
Pastel colors can be used to good effect as
well. They can make a unique contrast in an
exhibit hall where all the other booths have
loud colors. One of the most successful trade
show booths for a Fortune 500 company was pale
gray and white with hints of red and black set
against some beautiful visuals. Simple
spotlights were used to highlight the visual
panels of the booth and greenery was carefully
arranged in front of the trade show booth. A
matching carpet of pale gray and a couple of
directors' chairs made this trade show booth an
oasis in a sea of loud colors. People flocked to
it in droves because it was different.
Unique design is another way to create an
extremely effective and powerful trade show
booth impression. Find out what your competition
is designing, then do the opposite! You'll stand
out from the crowd. To a point, that is;
uniqueness by itself won’t work if it is
unattractive or doesn’t fit your company image.
While you want a unique design, remember that
your presentation will represent your company
image in the marketplace. You want to create a
unique design within your own company style and
preferences. Anyone can be unique and different,
but few can be unique and different in an
exceptional way. You might do well to consult
with a designer on how to present your design in
a new way.
Once you lure people over to your dynamic trade
show booth, you want to be able to keep them
around and sell them on your products. Your
staff is vital to this job; be sure you select
cheerful, friendly, upbeat employees with lots
of stamina to manage your trade show booth. They
must know your products and services very well
and be willing to go beyond their job
description to serve customers. Your staff
should be as appealing as the trade show booth
design that brought customer to the counter to
begin with!
